Hypertrade Consulting was founded in Bangkok, Thailand, by Frédéric Etienbled in 2005 in response to an execution and energy gap that Frédéric saw between brands and retailers in the world of sales.
Based on years of working for global hypermarket chains like Carrefour, Frédéric noticed that brands and retailers often misunderstood each other, to the detriment of each side. Instead of collaborating, the two parties would often be antagonistic.
Hypertrade was created as a bridge between brands and retailers, beginning as the branch of the company now known as Retail Insights. Frédéric and his teams worked on both sides of the aisle to help brands and retailers find common ground and learn from each other in order to grow their businesses.
As the retail market shifted from a quantitative approach to delivery of goods to customers (a “bigger is better” strategy) to an efficient approach (the “less is more” strategy), Hypertrade expanded into two more areas of expertise: GoTo Market Insights and Store Insights. Hypertrade operates from within the store itself, working inside out to assess what strategies and tools are needed to deliver shopping experiences that drive sales.
Today, Hypertrade is expanding from its base in Thailand to open up offices in Vietnam, with plans to move into Myanmar, Indonesia and Cambodia as well.
